Three Days Into The Northern Frontier
Three days is enough to experience the spirit of the Ha Giang Loop when the journey is carefully planned.
Our route takes you from Ha Giang through Quan Ba and Yen Minh to Dong Van, across the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass and the remote mountain roads around Meo Vac, before continuing to the peaceful valleys of Du Gia and returning to Ha Giang.
But this journey is not simply about reaching the next destination.
It is about the road between them — stopping at mountain viewpoints, meeting local people, discovering traditional villages, enjoying quiet roads and taking the time to experience the landscape around you.

Ha Giang to Yen Minh
Ascent into the Karst Plateau
Begin your journey leaving the city behind as the roads immediately start to wind upwards. We navigate the legendary Bac Sum Pass and reach the Quan Ba Heaven Gate for your first panoramic view of the frontier. The afternoon is spent cruising through peaceful valleys and pine forests before arriving at our curated homestay in Yen Minh.
Yen Minh to Dong Van
The Heart of the Geopark
Today we ride deeper into the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. The landscape becomes increasingly dramatic as we tackle the Tham Ma Pass. We'll explore the historic H'mong King Palace, a testament to the region's rich cultural tapestry, before settling into the ancient town of Dong Van for the evening.

The King of Passes
The climax of the journey awaits: the awe-inspiring Ma Pi Leng Pass. Carved into the side of a mountain, it offers dizzying views of the Nho Que River below. After absorbing the majesty of the pass, we begin our descent through Meo Vac, winding our way back through changing landscapes to conclude the adventure in Ha Giang.
